Roy Murray (Treasurer) – Joined 2015
I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1969, and was invited to become a Fellow of the Institute In 1974.
I continued working in the profession until December 1978 when I accepted the position of Group Accountant with a company in Great Yarmouth, moving to Gorleston in 1979.
I held this position until 1987 when I was invited to work in London for a much larger company, but this ceased in early 1991 and I never moved from Gorleston..
In 1991 I was asked to work for an insurance company dealing with tax investigations and I continued there until June 2006 when I retired..
In December 2007 I retired from the Institute of Chartered Accountants and no longer describe myself as a member.
Throughout my professional life and since retiring I have acted for a number of charities and associations including currently the James Paget League of Friends, Bradwell Church and The Great Yarmouth Older Peoples Network.
In my spare time I enjoy walking, running and cycling.
I have been married for 47 years (and counting) and have two nearly grown up children (44 and 42), and five grandchildren.
